How to Reserve Train Ticket Online

With the help of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation you can book tickets online, or by using mobile phones through the messaging service. To reserve a ticket online is effortless job. IRCTC is constantly improving the features on its website and reservation process quite easy There is a very simple procedure to be followed to book ticket online.
To book ticket online firstly you have to register and create an account with IRCTC.  After registration you can reserve a ticket on IRCTC individually for every journey you plan. For booking ticket you have to log on the site.  After logging you will visit a “plan my travel and Book ticket” window. Here you have to put the source and destination, means places where from and where to go. You have to select the date of journey from given drop down list. IRCTC provides various classes like AC first class (1A), AC 2 Tier (2A)  AC 3 Tier (3A), AC Chair Car (CC), FIRST Class(FC), Sleeper (SL), Second sitting(SS). You can select class which you want from the given select menu. You can also select tickets for adults, children and senior citizens.
IRCTC also gives an option to reserve for e ticket and I ticket. Means after reserving one can get a printout of ticket. One only  has to carry some identity proof like PAN card or driving license. I ticket is a ticket available on your account and you can access it over any portable device that can connect to internet. I ticket must be produced when inquired for. Railway sends it to customer through courier service.
After that you will see the List of trains. In this you can select the train in which you will prefer to travel.  One can know seats availability, fare, etc of any train from this window. If you want to see the information of other trains click on “select other train”.
After completing the whole procedure, you will be asked for making payment, clicking on which window will pop-up. You have just to select the mode of payment. If your mode is taken as valid, you will be shown confirmation of ticket. After that you have to just note down the PNR number. You can always check your PNR Status at StatusHub.in.  If it is I ticket it will be delivered to your address mentioned in your ticket.
